Loftis:
Mayor, give us the latest update from the City of Flippin.

Mayor Hogan:
Well, Heather, what we were dealing with this morning probably started a little bit before 4 a.m. I received a call saying that we’ve had substantial amount of rainfall and it was starting to get into some residential areas. And so first responders began acting on that. And then we had to go to certain locations to be able to find out who was needed to be evacuated.

Loftis:
What locations needed to be evacuated in the city of Flippin?

Mayor Hogan:
Well the main, the main ones that we had to evacuate this morning was over Over at Seawright Motel and some residential areas behind that.

We had to, we had to get those evacuated.

Loftis:
Have you been able to survey and get a handle on the damages so far?

Mayor Hogan:
The damage, Heather, is going to take a few days. They’re going to have to go through proper protocol and probably get adjusters out and get those personnel out to be able to evaluate the damage before we can get an actual number.

Loftis:
What about the city water and sewer, sir?

Mayor Hogan:
So, nothing that has been brought to my attention that affected any of that. What did affect us this morning is, you know, we’re in a sewer project. And so, when the contractors work at different places, they do temporarily at the time, begin to put things like chat down and things of that sort.

So it can be drivable and and then move on to the next location. So, that substantial amount of rainfall fell in some of these places. Cause some of that chat to be able to move away and it, and it, and it kind of caused some you know, some holes in the street and stuff, but those crews came back out and began working and began to survey and things that was going on to try to help any problem situation that was there.

Loftis:
Anything more you need the residents of Flippin to know at this time, sir? What about the current update on 178 there in front of Ranger?

Mayor Hogan:
All the water has subsided there. Ranger did receive some water inside their facility. But our residents- we are getting Red Cross set up at the FEMA shelter and getting all of that organized and Red Cross is going to come down and going to set up there at the FEMA shelter in case anyone that is displaced from their home will be able to, you know, go to that shelter and stay overnight and they will have also access to showers.

Loftis:
Anything more you need everyone to know, sir?

Mayor Hogan:
Well one thing that I believe that is important is that is our personnel.

Our personnel acted quickly, our fire department, police, my public works department. I just want to say that I appreciate each and every one of them. They traveled this city, they waded water and to be able to go and make sure everybody got out safe and, and got to the proper place so that they can they can be secure and safe from the water.
