Van Buren police say one person was killed and two others were injured when they were struck by a train on Saturday night.
Authorities say the trio were on Lee Creek Bridge in Crawford County taking photos when the accident occurred. A man from Rudy, Arkansas was with two women before he was hit and killed. Police say the three were on the bridge after a train went by and thought they had enough time to hangout on the bridge. The two women were also hit by the train but only had minor injuries.
With help from the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office and Fort Smith Fire Department, the body was recovered. The victim has not yet been identified.
