The Missouri State Highway Patrol has announced an Amber Alert was issued after a West Plains child was allegedly abducted by her father Tuesday night. Thirty-year-old Joseph Rader is accused of taking his daughter, 2-year-old Paxton Rader, from her mother’s residence in the 1700 block of Gibson Avenue.
According to a news release, the West Plains Police Department received a report just before 9 of an in-progress parental kidnapping. The reporting party said an intoxicated male took her child and was running east toward Brook Haven Healthcare.
Officers later learned that the male was Joseph Rader and the child was Paxton. The complainant said Joseph Rader originally attempted to leave in a vehicle before fleeing on foot with the child.
Paxton Rader was last seen wearing a pink and tan shirt and shorts with Snoopy on them. She is a 2-foot-9 white female weighing 25 pounds with brown eyes and short blonde curly hair, which is shoulder length in the back.
Joseph Rader was last seen wearing a green ball cap, a black shirt and blue jeans. He is a 5-foot-10 white male weighing 145 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He has reportedly made suicidal statements.
