A man who said he didn’t want them and didn’t know what else to do with them is alleged to have put seven live puppies in a trash bag and threw them in a dumpster. Ronald Charles Schrine of Gainesville is facing a misdemeanor charge of animal abuse for the incident.
According to the probable cause affidavit from the Ozark County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy was dispatched to a residence after a report was received of puppies being placed in a dumpster.
When they arrived, they spoke with a female at the residence who said her boyfriend had put them there.
During questioning, Schrine told the deputies he was aware of the puppies being in the dumpster and being alive. He said he didn’t see a problem with it because he didn’t want them and didn’t know what else to do with them.
Schrine is scheduled to make his first court appearance Aug. 27.
