An inmate in the Baxter County Detention Center has picked up additional charges for assaulting another inmate, again. Thirty-three-year-old Dusty Allan Rhoades of Yellville is facing four charges for his latest fight in the local jail, his second in the last three months.

According to the probable cause affidavit, the incident happened Aug. 4. Video footage shows Rhoades going to the victim’s bunk and hitting him with his fist. Rhoades then instructs the victim to go to the restroom where he strikes him again.

The victim told investigators his life and his family’s lives were threatened by Rhoades and other inmates if he reported the attack. He said another inmate stayed up for two nights to prevent him from making a complaint to jail staff.

The victim was eventually able to get the attention of jail staff and taken to Baxter Health where it was determined he suffered a broken jaw, broken teeth and a head laceration. He had to undergo surgery for the injuries.

Rhoades is facing two felony counts of second-degree battery, a felony count of first-degree false imprisonment and a misdemeanor count of impairing the operation of a vital public facility for the attack.

Rhoades has been in the Baxter County Detention Center since April on multiple charges and has an extensive criminal history with arrests in Baxter, Marion, Stone and Searcy counties dating back to 2012.
