The Golden Football Hunt will start at 6:30, and it’s for youth in sixth grade and under. For the child who finds the golden football, his or her family will receive a free pass to attend any athletic event for the current school year.

Another contest at the high school will be the KTLO BBQ Cook-Off Challenge. One rack of ribs will be provided by First Security Bank at 8 a.m. to each team. Cooking will begin immediately following check-in. Ribs must be presented for judging at 6 Friday evening, where they will be judged on appearance, taste, texture, tenderness, aroma, moisture, creativity and overall impression. Another award will be given to the team with the best display of Bomber Pride at its cook site. Winners will receive the traveling trophy to display as bragging rights for their win.

Activities in the gym will also begin at 5. The seventh grade volleyball teams will get started with a scrimmage, and another scrimmage with the eighth graders and freshmen will follow at 5:25. The high school team will be introduced to the crowd at 5:50.

At 7, announcements will be made at center stage. Attendees will hear the winners of the KTLO BBQ Cook-Off Challenge, the People’s Choice Award, the Spirit Team Award and the obstacle course.

Huskey says the evening will culminate with the introduction of the football teams.
