
Mountain Home began its volleyball season Monday by defeating Harrison in all five matches.
The Lady Bombers took the varsity match in straight sets as they beat the Lady Goblins 26-24, 25-18 and 25-17. Aleigh Lucas led Mountain Home with 15 kills and six blocks; Daelyn Harper had 10 kills and four blocks; Anna McCarn recorded nine kills and three blocks; Annyston Crooker added five kills and a block; Addison Martz finished with 30 digs; Cara Jackson ended up with 10 digs, three kills and 27 assists; Micayla Magis had seven digs, two kills and seven assists; Lauren Rauls came away with seven digs; and Karleigh Drewry chipped in six digs.
Mountain Home also won the junior varsity match in straight sets with scores of 25-18 and 25-13. The J.V. Lady Bombers were led by Maddie Simmons with 12 digs, Ava Jones dished out 21 assists, Aspen Vostatek recorded six kills, Deanna Human had four kills, Lucas and Crooker each added three kills, Kori Scroggins came away with five digs, and Kenna Medley finished with four digs.
The junior high varsity match also ended in straight sets as Mountain Home topped Harrison 25-12 and 25-20. Violet Daugherty had 14 assists and seven digs for the Junior Lady Bombers, Dawson Harper recorded seven kills and seven digs, Macy Farris ended up with six kills, Jocelyn Green added four kills and two blocks.
The junior high junior varsity match needed all three sets, but Mountain Home came out on top of Harrison with scores of 20-25, 25-10 and 15-13. Landry Litty led the Junior J.V. Lady Bombers six kills, Layla Uchtman chipped in three kills, Avery Carson had 15 assists and seven aces, Kynlee Reynolds finished with 10 digs, and Zoey Throckmorton ended up with seven digs.
The seventh grade match also required all three sets. Mountain Home was able to defeat Harrison 20-25, 25-16 and 15-7.
Elsewhere, the Cotter High School team was able to get past Yellville-Summit in a match needing all five sets. The Lady Warriors topped the Lady Panthers 26-24, 22-25, 25-23, 17-25 and 15-12.
Bergman had a tough road trip. The Lady Panthers went to Elkins and lost their match in straight sets.
Valley Springs came up short as they lost to Berryville in five sets. The Lady Bobcats defeated the Lady Tigers 27-29, 19-25, 25-17, 25-13 and 15-9.
