
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a man found unresponsive Sunday night.
According to Marion County Sheriff Gregg Alexander, the Sheriff’s Office received a report of a man not breathing and unresponsive at a residence along Marion County Road 6018 at approximately 6:08 in the evening. The man, identified as 74-year-old Michael Smyth, was reported to have suffered from several extensive health issues over the past several years.
A family member told authorities they checked on Smyth at different times during the day and contacted emergency services when they found him unresponsive in the early evening hours.
Sheriff Alexander states they do not suspect foul play and believe Smyth died of natural causes.
