
The Mountain Home Public Schools Board of Education will meet in regular session Thursday night at 6 in the Administration Building Board Room.Items on the agenda include:
– a facilities update requesting to complete the transitional plan required by the Facilities Division including an inspection by a fire engineer, installation of additional smoke detectors, installation of more lighting, installation of elevated walking paths and installation of standpipe fire suppression system;
– request to purchase new high school cafeteria tables in the amount of $129,434;
– request to purchase new smoke detection system for the pre-engineered metal building at the high school in the amount of $22,747;
– approval of the 2025 fiscal year budget;
– request to purchase a used 2022 Ford Blue Bird Vision 77 passenger gasoline route bus with 23,000 miles in the amount of $102,900 and a 2024 Chevy 30 passenger Micro-Bird gasoline bus in the amount of $108,335;
– approval to wording updates in the transportation salary schedule and hourly rate schedule;
– approval of vendor payments over $20,000 including $37,069 to Waterford, $171,040 to BookNook, $10,400 to OnToCollege, and $22,500 to iCEV. All purchase will be reimbursable as the district was approved for the High-Impact Tutoring grant for the 2024-25 school year;
– approval to enter into an academic services agreement with Kaye Hollingsworth for High-Impact Tutoring;
– approval to enter into an academic services agreement with Marsha Partney for English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) testing;
– approval of the Baxter County Hazard Mitigation Plan resolution which will allow the district to participate in any opportunities for funding and assistance through FEMA if needed in the future; and
– approval of a policy which would decrease the number of days required for individuals to request to address the board at a regularly scheduled meeting.
