Baxter County Contested Candidate Public Forum to be held at Rapp’s Barren, aired on KTLO-FM

Residents of Mountain Home and Baxter County will have an opportunity to hear from the candidates in the local races for the upcoming November general election. The Baxter County Contested Candidate Public Forum is scheduled for Oct. 7 at 5:30 at Rapp’s Barren Brewing Company in downtown Mountain Home, and it will be broadcast on KTLO-FM 97.9 and streaming live at ktlo.com.

The forum will feature three races for the quorum court. Democrat Johnny Rickman and Repubican Mike McDonald are running to succeed District 2 Justice of the Peace Angela DeGroote, who did not run for reelection. Incumbent Republican District 3 JP Rick Steiner will face off against Democratic challenger Donnie Huffine. For the District 7 JP seat, Democrat Derek Huber and Republican Bob Nault are running to succeed Dr. Charles Osgood, who lost to Nault in the March primary.

In addition, two incumbents on the Mountain Home City Council are being challenged. Ward 1, Position 1 council member Bob Van Haaren will square off against Paige Wolfe, and Jim Bodenhamer is being challenged for Ward 4, Position 1 by Michele Linehan.
