
A local nature center is opening its doors to those who would like a chance to connect with nature and give back to the community. Volunteer opportunities are now open at the Fred Berry Crooked Creek Nature Center in Yellville.The center has been undergoing upgrades to the facilities including a remodeled outdoor pavilion and facility coordinator Heather Pitman says if someone enjoys the outdoors the center may be the perfect place to share their talents.

Potential volunteers need to be over the age of 14 and submit to a background check. Calls for inquires can be made to 870-281-4387. Applicants can visit the Arkansas Game and Fish website at www.agfc.org to register online. The Crooked Creek Nature center is located at 851 Conservation Lane in Yellville.
