The Melbourne High School girls’ golf team came away with some hardware Monday on its home venue of Cooper’s Hawk Golf Course. The Lady Bearkatz finished as the runners-up of the Class 3A State Tournament with a team total of 274.
Melbourne was led by Annie Rush as she was second on the individual leaderboard and qualified for the Overall State Tournament to be held Oct. 17 at Pleasant Valley Country Club in Little Rock. In addition, Kallie Thornton joined Rush on the All-State team as she ended up in a tie for seventh place.
