
The Red Cross will be hosting an emergency blood drive and collecting donations Thursday and Friday to support victims of Hurricane Helene. The drive and collection point will be held in the Cultural Hall of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Mountain Home from 1 until 6.
Registered Nurse Christine Pennington was a guest on KTLO’s morning show THursday morning to call on the public to support the drive and she says that the impacts of the Hurricane have been truly devastating.

The following items have been requested – water, nonperishable food items, batteries, soap, toiletries and hygeine items, diapers, baby formula, baby wipes, toilet paper, hydrogen peroxide, basic first aid and donations of cash. The Red Cross states clothes or toys are not needed at this time.
Pennington says a group will deploy Sunday to distribute donations to affected areas.
