High school football dominates the local Friday schedule, and Mountain Home will have its first home outing of the conference slate. The Bombers will welcome in Shiloh Christian from Springdale.
Mountain Home comes into the game tied for fourth in Class 6A in the latest Arkansas Sports Media rankings. The Bombers defeated Fort Smith Southside last week to improve to 4-0 for the first time since 1986, and they’re also 1-0 in the 6A-West. Shiloh Christian is ranked third in Class 6A and 10th in the state overall. The Saints are 2-2 and 0-1 after suffering an 11-point loss to Greenwood.
Mountain Home head coach Steve Ary says so far this season, the team has played well enough to win every game, but they’ll need to play even better this week.

Friday will be Stripe Out Night at Bomber Stadium. Fans are being asked, if possible, to wear a corresponding color to the section they will occupy.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7. Friday’s game will be broadcast on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com and the Bomber Sports Network on YouTube. Radio coverage begins around 5:15 with Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas High School Gameday.
Elsewhere in the 6A-West, Russellville travels to Greenwood, Siloam Springs makes the trip to Van Buren, and Fort Smith Southside heads to Pearcy to meet Lake Hamilton.
Friday will be homecoming night for Yellville-Summit. It will also be the first home game of league play for the Panthers as they face Mayflower.
Yellville-Summit is currently 2-2 on the season and 0-1 in the 3A-2. The Panthers’ conference opener was last week when they ended up losing at Quitman. Mayflower is 4-0 and 1-0 after shutting out Mountain View a week ago, and Yellville-Summit head coach Chaseton McCarthy says the Eagles will be a handful this week.
