
A man from Hardy is behind bars after he allegedly stabbed a man from Fulton County twice. Thirty-nine-year-old Charles Randal Vanoven is facing a felony charge of first degree battery for the incident which occurred Sunday.
According to the probable cause affidavit from the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, they found the victim lying on the floor of his residence east of Salem. There was a significant amount of blood on the floor and the victim had two stab wounds to his left arm. He told deputies he had been stabbed by Vanoven who had fled the area. The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment.
The next day, Vanoven was interviewed at the sheriff’s office. He told investigators the victim punched him in the eye but he never stabbed him.
A search warrant was executed on Vanoven’s truck where investigators found droplets of blood in multiple locations.
Vanoven is being held in the Fulton County Detention Center on $50,000 bond.
