
Yellville-Summit’s homecoming game ended on a rough note Friday night. The Panthers’ first home game of the conference slate concluded with a 35-0 loss to Mayflower. Yellville-Summit drops to 2-3 on the season and 0-2 in the 3A-2, and they’ll host Mountain View next week for their Turkey Trot game.
Salem was dominant as they played their first home game in over a month. The Greyhounds put the mercy rule in effect as they shut out Episcopal Collegiate 49-0. Salem improves to 3-2 on the year and 2-0 in the 3A-2, and they’ll return to the road next week as they face Atkins.
The struggles are continuing for Izard County in its first season of 11-man football. The Cougars went to Cherry Valley and lost to Cross County 46-6. Izard County falls to 0-5 overall and 0-2 in the 2A-3, and they’ll travel to McCrory next Friday.
Melbourne went on the road and grabbed its first league victory of the season. The Bearkatz were able to top Quitman by a final of 43-33. Melbourne is now 4-1 overall and 1-1 in the 3A-2, and they’ll make the trip to Mayflower next week.
Mountain View suffered its second straight shutout on Friday. The Yellowjackets were in front of the home crowd as they fell to Atkins 42-0. Mountain View’s record is now 2-3 on the season and 0-2 in the 3A-2.
Harrison is continuing to look for its first win of the year. The Goblins ended up losing at Farmington by a score of 33-14. Harrison falls to 0-5 on the year and 0-2 in the 5A-West, and they’ll host Clarksville next week.
On the eight-man level, Marshall had a tough night in its first road trip of the season. The Bobcats went to Pleasant Plains and fell to Midland 34-20. Marshall drops to 2-4 on the season, and their next game will be at home against Rose Bud.
