Baxter County Contested Candidate Public Forum set for Monday at Rapp’s Barren on KTLO-FM

Candidates in the races for the Baxter County Quorum Court and the Mountain Home City Council will gather Monday night at Rapp’s Barren Brewing Company in downtown Mountain Home. The Baxter County Contested Candidate Public Forum will get underway at 5:30 on KTLO-FM 97.9 and streaming live at ktlo.com.

The forum will feature three races for the quorum court. Democrat Johnny Rickman and Republican Mike McDonald are running to succeed District 2 Justice of the Peace Angela DeGroote, who did not run for reelection. Incumbent Republican District 3 JP Rick Steiner will face off against Democratic challenger Donnie Huffine. For the District 7 JP seat, Democrat Derek Huber and Republican Bob Nault are running to succeed Dr. Charles Osgood, who lost to Nault in the March primary.

In addition, two incumbents on the Mountain Home City Council are being challenged. Ward 1, Position 1 council member Bob Van Haaren will square off against Paige Wolfe, and Jim Bodenhamer is being challenged for Ward 4, Position 1 by Michele Linehan.
