Gainesville woman sustains moderate injuries after striking deer Thursday night

A Gainesville woman sustained moderate injuries in a single-vehicle accident Thursday night in Douglas County.

According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, at approximately 8:30 Thursday night, 40-year-old Megyn Adam was traveling southbound on Missouri Highway K, four miles north of Ava, when she struck a deer. Adam then traveled off the right side of the road, hit a tree and returned to the roadway before she traveled off the right side of the road for a second time and striking another tree before coming to a rest.

Adam was transported by ambulance to CoxHealth South in Springfield for treatment of her injuries.
