
Two of Mountain Home’s football teams wrapped up their season by splitting with a pair of Jonesboro teams.
The Junior Varsity Bombers squeaked by the J.V. Hurricane 21-19. Connor Schulz caught a 35-yard touchdown pass from Gaige Wilson and also had a four-yard scoring run. Wilson had a touchdown run of his own from one yard out. Zach Padgett was 3-for-3 on extra points. Defensively, Jake Thomas had an interception and a fumble recovery, Elijah Hillstrom recovered a fumble and blocked a punt, and Tayon Peterson added a pick. Mountain Home concludes the year at 6-1.
The evening started with Mountain Home’s seventh graders losing to Douglas MacArthur 22-6. The Seventh Grade Whirlwind scored all of their points in the first half. On the opening play of the second half, Hudson Speer ripped the ball away from MacArthur’s running back. The ensuing drive for the Seventh Grade Bombers ended with a two-yard touchdown run by Speer. In addition to Speer, other defensive standouts were Austin Sites, Uriah Sabo and Jacob Donaldson. Mountain Home’s final record is 3-4.
