Thursday saw Mountain Home’s varsity volleyball squad wrap its regular season with a win on the road against Nettleton. It took all 5 sets but the Lady Bombers secured the final set total of 3-2 against the the Raiders.The Lady Warriors from Cotter fought a tough battle in the championship match of the class 2A regional tournament in Brockwell but ultimately it was Marshall that secured the win for the night. Two tight sets started the evening with the Panthers winning 25-23 and 25-23 as Cotter seemed just a step behind. The Warriors struck a come back winning sets 3 and 4 with scores of 25-12 and 25-13. The final set was where the Panthers took the edge and the title with a final score of 12-15.
Valley Springs competed for third place in the Class 3A Regional Tournament at Hoxie but the team from Manila took the honor for the night. Valley Springs lost the first two sets but then worked on building momentum with a win in the third. The final two sets sealed the deal as Manila was able to take the final sets for the win.
