With the postseason coming up for high school football in Arkansas, the watch list has been announced for the 2024 Farm Bureau Insurance Awards, and seven area athletes have been recognized. The awards will honor the state’s top offensive player, defensive player and coach of the year for each classification as well as the top offensive lineman.
Two Mountain Home players made the watch list for Class 6A. The list includes Bombers’ running back Jacob Chenowith and defensive back Dawson Dunlap.
Three area athletes are among those recognized in Class 3A. The offense list includes Kaiden Hollis of Salem. Fellow Greyhound Skyler Payne and Fernando Ventura of Melbourne are on the watch list for defense.
The Class 2A watch list includes two athletes from Izard County. The Cougars are represented by Porter Burton on offense and Xander McCandlis on defense.
The award winners will be announced Dec. 16.
