An area student athlete has made his decision to continue his playing career on the collegiate level official. Melbourne High School senior Grant Wren signed a national letter of intent on Wednesday to join the baseball program at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.
Wren spent his junior season on the injured list. According to Melbourne High School, he is currently in rehab after undergoing Tommy John surgery 16 weeks ago, and he has been released to begin throwing. He was able to help the Bearkatz win a conference championship as a freshman and a district title as a sophomore.
Wren will become the first graduate at Melbourne to become a Razorback. He plans to pursue studies in finance at Arkansas.
