Friday’s basketball schedule includes MHHS at Van Buren

High school basketball dominates the local Friday schedule as Mountain Home will be back on the road for the first time in a week-and-a-half. The Bombers and Lady Bombers will be near the Oklahoma line for an outing with Van Buren.
Mountain Home’s girls, currently ranked third in Class 5A and ninth overall by the Arkansas Sports Media, clinched a state tournament berth on Tuesday. The Lady Bombers are 22-4 on the season and 8-2 in the 5A-West following their 10-point win over Siloam Springs. Van Buren is 19-7 and 6-4 after an easy victory over Russellville. Mountain Home defeated the Lady Pointers 60-53 on Jan. 17.
The Bomber boys are 13-13 overall and 3-7 in the league as they come off a seven-point victory over Siloam Springs. Van Buren is 11-15 and 4-6 after suffering a one-point loss to Russellville. Mountain Home fell to the Panthers 56-48 nearly a month ago.
The junior varsity games tip off at 4 at Clair Bates Arena. The varsity contests begin around 6 and will be broadcast on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com and the Bomber Sports Network on YouTube.

Also in the 5A-West, Harrison travels to Alma, Russellville hosts Siloam Springs, and Farmington entertains Greenwood.

Elsewhere, Cotter is home against Lead Hill, Flippin’s boys host Mulberry, Yellville-Summit entertains Calico Rock, Viola makes the trip to Cave City, the Gainesville boys are home against Mansfield, Salem heads to Valley Springs, Izard County hosts Rivercrest, Dora’s boys entertain Summersville, Mammoth Spring travels to Lake City to meet Riverside, Melbourne is home against Buffalo Island Central, Marshall hosts Bigelow, Timbo makes the trip to Western Grove to face Ozark Mountain, Mountain View entertains Highland for Senior Night, and Bergman heads to Rose Bud.
