Melbourne boys end up as state runners-up after loss to Osceola

The Melbourne High School boys’ basketball team’s quest for a state championship fell just short Thursday at Bank OZK Arena. The Bearkatz ended up falling to Osceola 57-53 in the Class 3A title game.

Brennon Burch led Melbourne with 14 points, Kale Caraway recorded 13, and Hayden Edwards ended up with 11. Maurice Washington came away with the game’s MVP award as he scored 15 points for the Seminoles, and Tyler Bell led the way with 20 points.

The Bearkatz conclude the season at 29-8. Osceola improves to 27-7.
