The ASU-Mountain Home baseball team had mixed results Saturday as they met Arkansas-Rich Mountain for a neutral site doubleheader in Benton. The Bucks were able to snap the TrailBlazers’ winning streak in the late game, but not before that streak set a school record.
ASU-Mountain Home won their 11th straight when they defeated UARM 5-2. Ckyler Tengler was credited with the victory as he pitched 6 1/3 innings, recorded 14 strikeouts and gave up one hit and two runs. Yadiel Calnales ended up with a third inning homer over the center field fence, Spencer Mounce went 3-for-4 at the plate, Reece Bariola and Brody Miller also had multi-hit outings.
The TrailBlazers’ streak came to an end after they fell to the Bucks 8-2. Nicholas Patterson suffered the loss as he pitched six innings, struck out four batters and gave up six hits and four runs. Calnales and Cade Collins each drove in a run for ASU-Mountain Home.
The TrailBlazers are now 14-8 on the season, and they’ll travel to Walnut Ridge on Monday for a doubleheader with Williams Baptist.
