JONESBORO, Ark. (3/16/25) – The NCAA Tournament bracket is set, with 15 seed Arkansas State women’s basketball (21-10, 15-3 SBC) set to make their NCAA Tournament debut against the second-seeded Uconn Huskies (31-3, 18-0 SBC) at noon on Saturday inside Harry A. Gampel Pavilion in Storrs, Conn.

A-State will face the Huskies on the hardwood for the first time ever, and hold a 5-9 record against Big East Conference opponents. The opponents are Butler (3-1), Creighton (1-1), Marquette (1-2), St. John’s (0-1), Seton Hall (0-1), Xavier (0-1), and DePaul (0-2).

The Scarlet and Black toppled top-seeded James Madison 86-79 in overtime on March 10, punching a ticket to the program’s first NCAA Tournament. Prior to 2024-25, the best postseason finish occurred in 1992-93, when head coach Jerry Ann Winters, along with All-America guard Sonja Tate and All-Sun Belt forward Shyla Tucker, led the Scarlet and Black to the NWIT championship. The Red Wolves defeated SMU 67-54 on March 27, 1993, in Amarillo, Texas.

The matchup will be broadcasted on ABC, the program’s first contest on an over-the-air network.
