
The Mountain Home High School baseball team was able to remain undefeated as they played their conference opener at McClain Park. The Bombers were dominant as they shut out Siloam Springs 11-0. Mountain Home improves to 6-0 on the season and 1-0 in the 5A-West.
In other baseball, Cotter defeated Calico Rock 14-4, Norfork fell to Greers Ferry West Side 12-2, Flippin lost to Valley Springs 9-0, Yellville-Summit was toppled by Melbourne 8-0, Viola beat Concord 10-4, Salem topped Mountain View 11-1, Marshall fell to Tuckerman 6-0, Lead Hill was a 12-4 winner over Jasper, and Omaha routed Deer 23-10.
Mountain Home High School’s softball team went on the road and came away with a 6-1 victory over Southside Batesville. Chloe Bohannon was credited with the win as she pitched five innings and struck out seven batters, and Emma King went to the circle for the other two innings and recorded two strikeouts. Offensively for the Lady Bombers, Bella Conyers was 2-for-3, Daeyln Harper went 2-for-4 and drove in a run, Maddie Simmons was 1-for-2 with a home run, Bohannon went 1-for-3, Leah Bockstahler was 1-for-4 with two RBIs, and Karleigh Drewry went 1-for-4 and drove in a run. Mountain Home remains unbeaten in four games on the season.
Mountain Home had a different result in the junior varsity game as they were doubled up by Southside 6-3. The J.V. Lady Bombers drop to 2-2 on the year.
