Twenty five students and two chaperones from Regensburg in the state of Bavaria in Germany are enjoying their final week in Mountain Home as part of the German American Partnership Program or GAPP program at Mountain Home High School. This is the 25th time in the last 40 plus years Mountain Home has held the GAPP program which was started by Nancy Reed. Tom Chentnik took over following her retirement and now, Chris Francis is in his third year as the German teacher and GAPP Coordinator at Mountain Home High School.The Germans arrived April 2 and have been busy with many activities and attending school. Francis says they have another enjoyable day planned later this week.

A trip that long obviously takes a lot of money. Francis says the students have done a lot of fundraising, including selling chocolate individually. They have had some group fundraisers and have another one coming up later this month.
