Briarcliff residents are invited to a meet and greet with candidates for the city’s open mayoral seat on Saturday evening at 5. The event will take place at the city’s temporary office, located at 945 Scenic Drive.

Residents will have the opportunity to meet the mayoral candidates and their City Council representatives, ask questions, and share their opinions on who they believe should serve as the next mayor.

Candidates for the vacancy include Joshua Williamson and Robert Markham. Former mayor Keith Lewis is also considering a return to the position.

The City Council is expected to appoint the next mayor on May 13, based on input from council members’ constituents.

Burgers, hot dogs, chips, and bottled water will be provided.

Residents are encouraged to contact their City Council representative to share their preference for the appointment. Those unsure of who represents them may call the Briarcliff office at 870-491-5762. Preferences may also be submitted via email or message to the city office.
