Missouri’s Bryant heads to New England in 7th round of NFL Draft

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Former Mizzou offensive lineman Marcus Bryant was selected in the seventh round of the 2025 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots.

Bryant becomes Mizzou’s third NFL Draft pick at the 2025 event after offensive lineman Armand Membou (No. 7) and wide receiver Luther Burden III (No. 39) also heard their name called. Bryant was the 220th overall selection and the seventh Tiger taken by the Patriots and first since Joshuah Bledsoe was chosen by the organization in the 2021 NFL Draft. With Bryant and Membou both being taken, it marked the first time since 2016 in which two Tigers offensive linemen were selected in the same draft (Evan Boehm and Connor McGovern).

Bryant, a 6-7, 317-pound Round Rock, Texas, product played one season at Mizzou after concluding a four-year career at Southern Methodist University. He was a 2023 First Team All-AAC selection, 2023 Second Team Dave Campbell Texas Football All-Texas College honoree, and three-time Pro Football Focus All-AAC recipient (2021-22-23) and played in 55 career games, making 42 starts.

During his lone season in Columbia, Bryant started all 13 games at left tackle and helped the offense accumulate 2,138 rushing and 2,926 passing yards as well as 26 rushing touchdowns. He was part of an offensive line that led the SEC and ranked seventh nationally in time of possession (32:54) and ranked fourth and seventh in the conference in tackles for loss allowed (4.62) and sacks allowed (2.00) per game, respectively.

Bryant blocked for an offense that finished 10th nationally and second in the league in red zone offense, converting 46-of-50 opportunities (.920). Additionally, he helped Mizzou rank fifth in the country and second in the league in passes had intercepted with only five on the year.

He is the 17th NFL Draft pick to have played at Mizzou under head coach Eliah Drinkwitz.
