Monday schedule includes MHHS baseball team hosting Alma for 5A-West outing

Monday’s sports schedule includes another conference outing for the Mountain Home High School baseball team. The Bombers return to McClain Park as they meet Alma. The varsity game at Pitts Field begins at 5. The junior varsity contest has been canceled.

A few other area high school baseball teams will be in Cave City for the start of the 3A-2 District Tournament. Salem and Bergman get underway at 4, and Mountain View faces Valley Springs at 6:30.

Three area baseball teams will have their openers in the 2A-2 District Tournament at Sloan-Hendrix High School in Imboden. Marshall takes on Tuckerman at 4, and Izard County plays Mammoth Spring at 6:15.

Elsewhere on the baseball schedule, Cotter hosts Eureka Springs for a Senior Night doubleheader, Viola entertains Bakersfield for Bats on the Border, Gainesville travels to Norwood, and Jasper is home for a Senior Night doubleheader against Deer.

Two area softball teams will square off in the opening game of the 3A-2 District Tournament at Cave City. Yellville-Summit and Valley Springs will start at 4.

The 2A-2 District Softball Tournament will begin at Sloan-Hendrix High School in Imboden. Marshall will be paired with Cedar Ridge at 4, and Mammoth Spring will face the host Lady Greyhounds at 5:45.

In other high school softball, Norfork makes the trip to Jasper, Bakersfield heads to Willow Springs, Gainesville travels to Norwood, Dora makes the trip to Mountain Grove, and Lead Hill hosts Alpena.
