Disability Rights Arkansas (DRA) has announced it will not be accepting new cases as of April 25. According to DRA, the freeze comes from remaining funding not being released by federal funders in a timely manner.

The pause will allow DRA to continue to support current clients in case funding is not released at all. In the meantime, DRA will be providing information, referral and technical assistance only with the exceptions of vocational rehabilitation assistance and barriers to employment for Social Security recipients.

DRA recommends anyone needing assistance in a case contact their member of the Arkansas General Assembly or Congress.

In a Facebook post, DRA says “We recognize that this decision will have a tremendous impact on families throughout Arkansas, but your funding limitations will not allow us to accept new cases at this time. We will let everyone know when circumstances change. Please note this decision was not reached lightly.”
