
Leading up to commencement, ASU-Mountain Home (ASUMH) hosts many events celebrating staff, faculty and students. Recently, the school held Faculty and Staff awards to recognize the important people who keep the college running and the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Induction to welcome new members, stole graduates and install officers.
Dr. Robert Shurley, Dean of Business, Arts and Sciences, notes the importance of these events for faculty and staff.

Kellie Thomas was name Faculty Member of the Year which recognizes her accreditation efforts through her work with the Higher Learning Commission, strengthened academic engagement through her presentation at the APEX Lecture Series and her service as Chair of the second annual Summer Conference.
The Staff Member of the Year award went to LeQuita Foster who’s student-centered approach to Financial Aid shows her commitment and prioritization of student success.
Foster says she’s been working for ASUMH since 1991 and has no plans on retiring any time soon.

The Beta Iota Epsilon Chapter of PTK, the International Honors Society, celebrated their graduating members with a commemorative stole for their achievements as well as honoring and inducting new members.
Miranda Edwards, Vice President of Scholarship for the ASUMH Chapter of PTK, says being a member of the Society helps her inspire future students.
