Twin Lakes Community Foundation announces Giving Tree Grant awarded to 33 organizations

The Twin Lakes Community Foundation held its Giving Tree Grant Luncheon at the end of April. A total of 33 grants worth over $47,000 were awarded to organizations throughout Baxter, Marion, Fulton and Izard counties.

Twin Lakes Community Foundation Executive Director Kimberly Jones was a recent guest on KTLO-FM, and she says a majority of the grants were for food security.

The Giving Tree Grants are provided through endowments set up by the foundation and local donors. Funds from the Giving Tree Endowment has also been raised by local donors over the last 23 years. Since the Giving Tree Grants have started, the Twin Lakes Community Foundation has awarded 400 grants for worth more than $450,000.

Jones stresses the importance of Giving Tree Grants being courtesy of area residents giving to local causes.
