Baxter County is just over a week away from its school election. Early voting will get underway Tuesday as two candidates are looking to succeed a Norfork School Board member who did not run for reelection, and for the county’s residents living in the Calico Rock School District, an incumbent is facing a challenger.
Baxter County’s only polling location for early voting will be the courthouse at 1 East Seventh Street in downtown Mountain Home. The early voting period will be Tuesday through Friday and May 12 during the courthouse’s normal business hours of 8 to 4:30. There will be no Saturday voting.
In Norfork, Josh Davis and Matt Wilbur are running for Position 1, currently occupied by Shannon Moody. Current Calico Rock School Board Secretary Kelley Killian is seeking reelection and being challenged by Candace Branscum.
Election Day will be May 13 from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. with four polling locations open. In addition to the courthouse, Baxter County residents living in the Norfork and Calico Rock school districts can vote at Salesville City Hall at 46 Gillespie Street, First Baptist Church of Norfork at 36 Second Street and Lone Rock Baptist Church at 6726 Push Mountain Road.
