Eli Jones is a senior at Mountain Home High School, and is part of the track and football team. He signed on Monday with the University of Central Arkansas in Conway to continue his academic and track career, and shortly afterward, he received the Jim Holsted Athlete of the Year Award.
Jones is having an excellent senior season, as he is one of the best shot putters and discus throwers in the state. He is going for his second consecutive All-State selection. Jones was also an All-Conference performer in football this past fall as he helped the Bombers reach the state semifinals for the first time in 18 years.
Jones says the coaches were a big part in his decision to attend UCA.

Jones was selected as Mountain Home’s athlete of the year. He beat out Laykin Moore, Ryder McClain and Anna McCarn for the Jim Holsted Award.
Eli is the son of Jay and Kimberly Jones of Mountain Home.
