Friday schedule includes Norfork continuing to host regional baseball, softball tournaments in MH

High school baseball and softball dominate the local Friday schedule as regional tournaments continue throughout Arkansas.

Norfork will continue to host the Class 1A Region 1 Tournament Baseball Tournament at Clysta Willett Park in Mountain Home. In the semifinals, the Panthers meet Magazine at noon, and Jasper faces Scranton at 2:30.

Izard County’s baseball team returns to Sloan-Hendrix High School in Imboden for the semifinals of the Class 2A Region 2 Tournament. The Cougars will get underway with Riverside at noon.

Melbourne will be back at Cave City for its semifinal game in the Class 3A Region 2 Baseball Tournament. The Bearkatz take on Walnut Ridge at noon.

Cotter’s softball team will return to the Equity Bank Sports Complex in Harrison for the semifinals of the Class 2A Region 1 Tournament. The Lady Warriors play Acorn at 2:30.

Calico Rock will compete in the second semifinal of the Class 1A Region 2 Softball Tournament at West Side High School in Greers Ferry. The Lady Pirates will be paired with the host Lady Eagles at 2:30.

The semifinals of the Class 3A Region 2 Softball Tournament will be held at Cave City. Melbourne meets Walnut Ridge at noon, and Salem faces Rivercrest at 2:30.
