Another minor earthquake has been reported in western Searcy County. The United States Geological Survey says the magnitude 2.2 quake was recorded 8.7 miles northeast of Pelsor at 1:53 Monday morning. The location is 26.7 miles south-southeast of Harrison and 43.7 miles southwest of Mountain Home.

Experts say normally, earthquakes below magnitude 3 are rarely felt. However, smaller quakes from magnitude 2.0 can be felt by humans if the quake is shallow (few kilometers only) and if they are very close to the epicenter and not disturbed by ambient factors such as noise, wind, vibrations of engines, traffic, etc.

Anyone who felt the quake can let the Geological Survey know on its website.
