
Tuesday is Election Day for a number of school districts in Arkansas, and there will be two races in Baxter County. Two candidates are looking to succeed a Norfork School Board member who did not run for reelection, and for the county’s residents living in the Calico Rock School District, an incumbent is facing a challenger.
In Norfork, Josh Davis and Matt Wilbur are running for Position 1, currently occupied by Shannon Moody. Current Calico Rock School Board Secretary Kelley Killian is seeking reelection and being challenged by Candace Branscum.
Monday was the last day for early voting with 15 ballots being cast in Baxter County. A total of 58 residents voted early during the week-long period.
Polling locations include the Baxter County Courthouse at 1 East Seventh Street in downtown Mountain Home, Salesville City Hall at 46 Gillespie Street, First Baptist Church of Norfork at 36 Second Street and Lone Rock Baptist Church at 6726 Push Mountain Road. The election will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
