Residents in need of a replacement driver’s license or ID will need to order one online as State Revenue Offices have put a temporary pause on in-person renewals. The Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration (DFA) implemented the policy to allow offices to focus in issuing Real IDs.

Replacement licenses will be delivered by mail after ordered. New, first-time licenses can still be obtained at any Revenue Office.

DFA is issuing approximately 10,000 Real IDs a day and more than 132,000 were issued between April 1 and early May. The traffic caused some Revenue Office to reach capacity causing long delays and the redirection of customers to nearby locations. The DFA’s focus this week is to ensure these delays are kept at a minimum so those with immediate travel plans have access to Real ID.
