Most of Thursday evening’s Mountain Home City Council meeting was spent discussing bathrooms being built at the Saddle Club Arena. That was one of four items on the agenda the council took just under half an hour to deal with.

The Saddle Club is planning on having the new restrooms constructed in time for the Red, White and Blue festival at the end of June. They needed the council to grant them landscape and drainage variances to be in effect while the construction is being done. The resolution passed on a 6-1 vote with Philip Frame casting the lone no vote. Susan Stockton was absent from the meeting.

The council approved waiving competitive bidding and authorized the Street Department to purchase a one-ton 2025 Dodge Ram truck from Ultimate Auto in Mountain Home for $47,976.

An ordinance changing an area zoned Residential R-1 to Residential R-4 was put on its first reading. The area is in Big Creek Estates.

The council also approved a large list of city items to be taken to Walker Auction to be sold next month.
