The Little Rock Trojans baseball team won its first Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) tournament championship Saturday, defeating top-seeded Eastern Illinois 2-1 in the title game.
Seeded eighth, the Trojans scored go-ahead runs in the seventh and eighth innings before pitcher Jack Cline closed out the game in the ninth.
Little Rock secured a spot in the tournament after Eastern Illinois defeated Western Illinois on May 17, allowing the Trojans to claim the final seed.
The title caps a milestone season for the program, which is celebrating its 50th year and notched a notable upset over Ole Miss on April 15.
With the win, Little Rock earns its first NCAA Regional berth since 2011. Tournament selections will be announced Monday on ESPN2.
