Efforts by local, state and federal law enforcement have not brought in Calico Rock escaped inmate Grant Hardin and as of Tuesday morning he remains at large.
Monday evening the Izard County Sheriff’s department released the following statement on Facebook, “Izard County Deputies and Investigators have been working alongside the Department of Corrections, other local, and state law enforcement agencies tirelessly, following up on potential leads and searching rough terrain and other areas for escapee Grant Hardin. To the citizens of Izard County and surrounding counties, please stay vigilant, lock your house and vehicle doors and report any suspicious activity by calling 911 immediately.”
Numerous tips have proved unfruitful at this time but law enforcement continues to urge the public that anyone with information about Hardin’s whereabouts should contact them immediately. The Stone County Sheriff’s department in a Facebook post stated recently, “We do appreciate the concerned citizen reporting what they believed. These tips do lead to law enforcement locating criminals and aiding the community,” in response to a tip that turned to be a dead end.

Please remain alert, and if you believe you see him, call 911 immediately. Do not approach him,he should be considered armed and dangerous.”
Officials continue to utilize a variety of means to track Hardin, as well as investigating the events that led up to his escape. Further updates will be provided as they become available.
