Due to high-water conditions, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission (AGFC) is advising boat access is currently limited on both Bull Shoals and Norfork Lakes.
Finding a place to launch at Bull Shoals may be difficult with the lake currently at 690 ft., however the high-water ramps at Lead Hill Park and Fairview Access are usable. On Norfork Lake, with a level of 579.5 ft., the ramps at Panther Bay, Buzzard Roost and Henderson South are available for launching.
AGFC states other ramps on both lakes may still be accessible to launch, but parking may be limited.
The Commission urges boaters to exercise extreme caution while launching and navigating both lakes. The elevated lake levels and recent flooding have resulted in significant amounts of debris floating in the water. AGFC recommends boaters prioritize safety by staying informed on current conditions and forecasts, remaining aware of surroundings and always wearing a life jacket.
