Authorities are continuing their search for escaped convicted murderer Grant Hardin, who broke out of the North Central Unit in Calico Rock on Sunday evening. The Izard County Sheriff’s Office is asking residents to check game and security camera footage for any sign of the fugitive.Sheriff Charley Melton on Friday urged residents in the Calico Rock and Pineville areas to review surveillance footage starting Sunday, May 25, and to report anything unusual, including unfamiliar vehicles or people.

“Even if you’ve already checked your footage earlier in the week, we strongly encourage you to check the footage again, as something new may be on the footage that could be significant,” Melton said in a statement.

Hardin, a former police officer convicted of murder, remains at large. Deputies are working with the Arkansas Department of Corrections, along with state and federal law enforcement agencies, in the ongoing search.

“Our deputies and investigators continue to work closely with the Department of Corrections,” Melton said. “We will continue these efforts until he is found.”

On Friday, the FBI increased the reward for information leading to Hardin’s arrest to $20,000. Authorities urge anyone with tips or relevant footage to contact law enforcement immediately.
