The annual White River Marathon, scheduled for Nov. 22, has chosen three organizations to donate all proceeds to. This year’s race will keep all proceeds local to help make an impact in Baxter and Marion Counties.
Baxter Health’s Mruk Family Center on Aging will receive 20% of proceeds and will use the funds to purchase recumbent bikes for their Wellness Education Center, which helps support older adults in staying active and independent. Each bike costs approximately $600 and the center aims to secure 15-20 bikes.
Another 20% will benefit the Ozarks Keystone Trail Endowment. The proceeds will help fund the Endowment’s trailhead signage along the 40 miles of completed Ozarks Keystone Trail, enhancing access and awareness of local recreation opportunities.
SPARKS Gamma House, which is in need of critical roof repairs, will receive 60% of earnings. The local non-profit provides shelter and support for women and children in crisis.
In addition to proceeds from registration, runners can make additional donations to one of the three organizations of their choice.
