A Baxter County man was recently arrested for spitting in the face of an emergency room nurse at Baxter Health in Mountain Home. Sixty-one-year-old Steven Lyn Ellison of Gamaliel is facing two charges, one of them a felony, for the incident which happened May 17.

According to the probable cause affidavit from the Mountain Home Police Department, the nurse said Ellison was a patient in the emergency room, was out of control and trying to get up. She, along with other ER staff, were trying to keep him on the bed when he spat in her face. At that point, Ellison was placed in restraints and a spit mask was placed over his head.

Ellison is facing a felony charge of aggravated assault and a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct. He is free after posting $5,000 bond.
