
The hot temperatures at Lester White Field fueled the Mountain Home American Legion Lockeroom team Tuesday evening as they swept Bakersfield and improved their record to 7-1.
The first game ended for the home team 12-1 with Aidan Shrable earning the win on the mound; striking out four and walking six. Ethan Light threw one inning of shutout ball in relief. Ryder McClain and Xander McCandlis each collected three hits for Lockeroom.
The momementum continued in the second game with Bakersfield falling 7-4. Xander McCandlis earned the win for Lockeroom striking out three and walking two. Ryder McClain led the team in runs scored with two batted in. Ethan Light, Jordan Corbett, MacCandlis and Peyton Bodenhamer each collected one hit.
The team looks to head to Branson next as they face Sedalia in the opening of the College of the Ozarks Tournament Thursday at 2.
