Humane Society receive grant for low-income residents to get pets spayed/neutered

A grant which will help the Humane Society of North Central Arkansas continue its lifesaving efforts while also allowing low-income pet owners receive needed services was recently awarded.

Carolyn Carter, Shelter Manager at the Humane Society of North Central Arkansas, says the grant is for $10,000 and was awarded by the Arkansas Animal Rescue Foundation.

The grant will help low-income residents get their pets spayed/neutered and pet owners can use the service by visiting the shelter and bringing proof of income through last year’s tax returns, social security statement, disability statement and a photo ID.

Carter says this grant will help many pets in the area.
