The Baxter County Sheriff’s Department is now accepting application for full time Jail Matron. Specific duties will include but not limited to: Booking procedures for all inmates, supervising and monitoring all inmates, inspection of Detention Center grounds, investigating grievances and incidents, move and transporting inmates, monitor surveillance camera system, assist with video arraignment procedures, fingerprint and photograph inmates, conduct searches in inmates and their property. Extensive use of computer is required.
Starting Wage: $43,866 annually with satisfactory 90 day evaluation and can be increased by 3% for every 2 years experience up to a maximum of 24%. 12 hour shifts, every other weekend off. Benefits included Blue Cross/Blue Shield Health, Dental and Vision insurance paid for the employee. $30,000 life insurance policy paid for the employee. 2 personal days on the 1st of the month after 30 days of employment; 2 days every annual anniversary. 20 sick days per year, beginning on the 1st of the month, after 30 days of employment. 15 vacation days on 1-4 each anniversary; 20 days on 5-9 years each anniversary; 25 days on 10+ years each anniversary. Retirement: Contribute 7% and are fully vested after 5 years through APERS; leaving in good standing after 5 years will be paid for all unused personal, sick and vacation days.
